October. My favorite month...for the most part. This year especially. With it being fall (not that you can tell by the weather), October already starts out being awesome. Kim, Ampersand, and I are moving into our new place in Walnut Creek the first weekend. Not only that, but on Sunday, we are going to the Bluegrass festival in SF which is free. The selling point for that is Mike Patton performing his album Mondo Cane which consists covers of Italian pop songs from the 1950's and 60's.
Pumpkin everything and cold weather begging for me to wear hoodies. As soon as this heat goes away, I will be a happy camper. Just a rockin' and a-rollin'.
On October 19th, Kim and I are going to see Jonsi perform in Oakland. Last time I checked, tickets were still available. We saw this show earlier this year and it was beautiful and jaw dropping from start to finish. I can't recommend this enough.

I finished reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I really enjoyed it and it kept me wanting more even though I've seen the film. I also finished reading Never Let Me Go and Imperial Bedrooms.
Never Let Me Go was incredible. I loved his style of writing. The way he drops in subtle clues as to the main characters unclear situation was clever and stuck in my head. Even when I put the book down, I couldn't stop thinking about it until I picked it back up again. I'm curious to see how the film turned out because I'm a big fan of Mark Romanek. Imperial Bedrooms is Bret Easton Ellis' latest; also a sequel to Less Than Zero. While not as whimsical, Ellis has a style all his own. The wit and sarcasm are both present...as is the violence. A quick and enjoyable read.
Currently reading The Stand, Carter Beats the Devil and Tell-All.

ReplyDeleteYeah, it just says Mondo Cane. Sunday at 5:20 or something. He's the last one to play on Sunday on one of the stages...there are at least like 3 stages. Elvis Costello is playing on the stage before him...
ReplyDeleteOh, der...yeah dude that's awesome! I want to go but I fear the crowds.
